A new standard in recovery devices
ARAY is a heated roller that combines myofascial massage with precision heat therapy, bringing professional-grade recovery into the home while redefining the aesthetics of fitness tools. In the competitive and saturated recovery market, most tools are either passive (foam rollers) or bulky and inconvenient (heat packs). ARAY was created to solve the critical disconnect between these two modalities by delivering focused, therapeutic heat through a floating heating element housed within a roller engineered for ease of use, durability, and effectiveness.
Product Strategy, Naming and Brand Development
As the first product from an emerging fitness brand, the ARAY heated roller establishes a high standard for future offerings while creating an identity rooted in thoughtful design, performance, and user-centered innovation. PENSA took a comprehensive approach, working with the ARAY team from the beginning to develop a product strategy targeting gaps in the market for accessible and meaningful home recovery solutions. We developed the ARAY name and brand as the embodiment of the vision and core values of its founder Eduardo Emanuelli, who wanted to create tools for anyone looking to move and feel better.
Design and engineering integration
ARAY’s technological innovation lies in its seamless integration of heat therapy and myofascial release within a compact, inviting and seamless design. Our engineering process prioritized creating a tool that could deliver consistent, targeted heat while maintaining durability, ergonomic comfort, and aesthetic appeal.
The unique performance of the ARAY roller is created through its proprietary construction, component and material choices. The rigid structural core houses a powerful and efficient battery as well as the control systems for the heat. Wrapping around the core are multiple EVA foam layers providing both a cushioned ride and targeted massage. The ARAY heating element is housed within these layers providing penetrating heat through the outer, molded pattern.
