We designed the Merge bike 5 (!) years ago but we still get a lot of questions about it, something we are very happy about! Some fun facts about our favorite 🚲 ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ 𝟏. We love NYC and we love bikes. One of the main ideas behind Merge was to create a bike that would look and act just like a bike; not try to reinvent the bike in any way. Bikes are fantastic transportation tools so we wanted to create one that fits perfectly in a big city. ⁣⁣ ⁣ 𝟐. The name "Merge" came from the way we talked about the concept as we were developing it: Merging different types of bicycles... Merging into the way we live an urban life... seamlessly Merging into traffic..⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ 𝟑. Developing the spring loaded rack that snaps out and disappears with the touch of a button was a big challenge. We went through dozens of iterations, spring set-ups, collapsing mechanisms, wiring strategies (the rack is wired with lighting as well) and prototypes before getting the feel and experience that we needed.⁣⁣⁣
