We designed the Merge bike 5 (!) years ago but we still get a lot of questions about it, something we are very happy about! Some fun facts about our favorite 🚲 𝟏. We love NYC and we love bikes. One of the main ideas behind Merge was to create a bike that would look and act just like a bike; not try to reinvent the bike in any way. Bikes are fantastic transportation tools so we wanted to create one that fits perfectly in a big city. 𝟐. The name "Merge" came from the way we talked about the concept as we were developing it: Merging different types of bicycles... Merging into the way we live an urban life... seamlessly Merging into traffic.. 𝟑. Developing the spring loaded rack that snaps out and disappears with the touch of a button was a big challenge. We went through dozens of iterations, spring set-ups, collapsing mechanisms, wiring strategies (the rack is wired with lighting as well) and prototypes before getting the feel and experience that we needed.
