In 2014, the Oregon Manifest Bike Design Project invited one leading design firm in five cycling-heavy cities to inspire urban commuters with the ultimate urban ride.
PENSA set out to create the ultimate bike for our fast-paced, densely packed, and beloved city, New York. Merge is a compact and nimble ride, offering its rider confidence when navigating tight spaces and rough roads. It is an elegant solution with functionality embedded into every square inch to surprise and delight urban cyclists.

Snap into action
Hidden functionality is built in to every hidden space of the Merge bike. Extend the spring-loaded aluminum rear rack when you need to carry some cargo and secure it with the built-in bungee cable system. When the job is done the rack retracts back into the tube, disappearing with the touch of a button.
Ready for whatever the day brings
Merge has a pedal powered dynamo hub that juices up your phone and lights the way home, providing front and rear lighting as well as side safety lighting which glows through the frame. There is also a retractable fender for rainy days and lock/cable storage. All of the function, none of the bulk.
